https://archive.org/details/runescape-music

The item displays around +180 duplicate tracks. They're .mp3 derivate files, but the rest of the item's derivate files aren't displayed in the player (it should display only the 1130 original .ogg files, I think).

And my other problem is that the item's description doesn't update. I've searched in the FAQ and made sure there weren't any 'weird' characters like accents, etc. but it still won't update.

Is there a maximum character limit for the description? Can I not use bold formatting? The text I'm trying to put is 1508 characters long (without including formatting). Thanks.

i see 1130 tracks in the playlist and all tasks have successfully run. perhaps you need to clear your cache.

If the player uses HTML5 first, it shows 1313 tracks, if it uses flash first, it shows 1130 to me. However, with the flash player it still doesn't show me +180 track names (it says 'tmp' instead) and it doesn't show track durations next to the names either

In regards to the page description, I cleared my cache and it doesn't update it, again not using any uncommon characters

some answers:
1. there are 183 .mp3 original files that are duplicates of original ogg files. those will appear in the playlist in html5 but not in flash. best to only upload one source for each track to avoid that

2. the "tmp" titling is likely due to something in the ID3 tags so it's not populating properly. nothing we can do about that. you can use edit to manually add titles to tracks.

3. in https://catalogd.archive.org/history/runescape-music you'll see there are no modify.php tasks by you so you did not complete whatever mod you thought fails. try again.

How do I upload on source?

When I'm in the metadata editor and click submit, my browser says it's uploading, then the page refreshes and it shows me the same things (title, description, etc.) before editing. I've tried with a different browser and it doesn't work. Is there another way to edit item metadata so I can change the description?

Thanks for the answers!

my typo. should have read:
best to only upload one source for each track to avoid that.

the metadata issue likely is that because there are so many files in this item the meta.xml file is bloated. you can send the changes you want to info@archive.org and i can likely make the change for you.
